Frequently Asked Questions
- What does a web site cost? There is a $400 setup fee that covers site design, site and graphic optimization, submission to search engines, navigation design, and miscellaneous expenses. In addition to the setup fee, our hourly rate is $75 per hour with a minimum charge of 10 hours. A rough estimate is two hours per page plus time spent on requested features.
- What if there is delay in completion? The primary reason for delay in completion of a web site (usually 6-8 weeks) is the client's failure to provide the information needed for completion. In that case, CCI reserves the right to send and collect the final bill after eight weeks. The work will then be completed as soon as the information is made available.
- Why can't you guarantee search engine placement? Search engines, such as Google, are designed to give greater importance to sites that are linked to the greater number of other sites. Therefore, portal-type sites (i.e., yellowpages.com) dominate the top of most search engine results, leaving small businesses further down in the search results. While the portal sites may link to your site, they may also link to thousands of others in the same business. It is possible to purchase web placement, but that expense is quite large. What we can do is optimize the site and the meta files attached to it to get the best results possible without the added cost. Be wary of companies saying they can guarantee results. If they make this claim, ask for a financial guarantee and benchmarks to judge the results.
- Do you provide e-commerce? Yes, we provide several levels of e-commerce, depending on whether you have a merchant account or not. There is no limit regarding number of products sold.
- Does the client need to know how to build a web site? No, that is why you pay CCI. All you need to know is what you want on your site and what functions you want it to perform.
- Does CCI provide the design, artwork, and photos? Yes, if needed. For design, we will discuss ideas with you before we start, including preferred colors, and then create the site to meet your specs.
- Will CCI provide the writing and editing for the site? Yes, but we need something from the client with which to work.
- How long does it take to get my web site online? We usually say 6-8 weeks, although more often than not (depending on size and features), we can get the site online in 3-4 weeks.
- Maintenance: We offer three maintenance plans, ranging from six updates a year to weekly updates. Maintenance plans are void if the client has other companies or individuals work on the site.
- Consultations: Initial consultations are free.
- Terms: All orders are due in full at time of the order. If adjustments become necessary, they will be made when the web site goes online. We take cash and checks only.
- Can I get a refund? If work on the web site has already begun, the initial payment will serve as the kill fee. If work has not begun on the site, a refund will be provided. If the client does not provide CCI with all of the materials for the site within the first eight weeks, there will be no refunds.
